Bruce Eckert
Managing Partner
Bruce Eckert offers clients extensive HCLS M&A experience across the range of HCLS organizations, transaction types, and sizes for both financial buyers/sellers and strategic buyers/sellers. Before joining Macatawa Advisors, Bruce was with KPMG’s Deal Advisory practice where he focused on HCLS transactions and strategy. In this role, Bruce assisted clients with the technology aspects of M&A across the transaction life cycle - due diligence, integration/separation planning and execution, and post-close performance improvement. Bruce’s recent clients include Partners Group, WCAS, Mayo Clinic and Northwestern Medicine, Bruce’s prior consulting roles include healthcare management & technology consulting leadership with KPMG and Beacon Partners. Prior to consulting, Bruce was as a CIO in the healthcare provider industry. Bruce is a frequent speaker for HIMSS, ACHE, and HFMA on topics ranging from “How IT can (help) fix American healthcare” to “An analysis of the EHR marketplace.” Bruce has authored numerous articles for industry journals. In his limited spare time, Bruce serves in several volunteer capacities with his church, tends a vegetable garden, and enjoys hiking.

Gil Lalo
Managing Partner
Gil offers clients technical excellence combined with extensive healthcare experience. His background spans the breadth of healthcare provider environments: hospitals, physician practices, specialty ambulatory facilities, and life sciences. He thrives in fast-paced, technology challenging environments, and specializes in crafting unique, tailored solutions that ensure success in these situations. Gil’s clients included Northwell Health, Yale University, Myriad Genetics, Northwestern Medicine, Eli Lilly, Medical University of South Carolina, Carle Health System Corewell Health, and numerous leading private equity firms. His prior consulting roles include stints with Deloitte, KPMG, Microsoft in the US, Europe, and the Middle East. Prior to consulting, he spent over a decade serving as CIO for several hospitals and large physician practices. Gil’s communication skills are evidenced by his success as a highly rated adjunct instructor with a local university where he taught computer science and business courses for over a decade. He holds an MS degree in Information Systems and specializes in solving big gnarly problems on behalf of his clients.

Robert Tennant
Managing Partner
Robert offers clients over 25 years of Healthcare and IT business transformation experience. Robert has gained this experience as an IT Startup CEO x 2, Healthcare CIO and Healthcare Consultant (including Big 4 consulting experience). Robert possesses a unique combination of business, technology, analytics and people skills. He is experienced assessing the culture, people, processes, technical and product portfolio of an organization’s IT assets and liabilities. His mindset is toward assessing and maximizing IT value, identifying critical risks and helping get initiatives unstuck when they are stuck. He has spoken and written about maximizing IT value in healthcare. His healthcare clients include: Ascension, Capital Health, Encompass Health (HealthSouth), MaineGeneral, McKesson, Northwell, Southcoast, Swedish, Trios and UNC Health. Robert has broad experience and interests. He holds a BA degree in Theology and enjoys international travel, food, wine, mixology. . .and a good laugh.
